Artist of the week – Of Monsters And Men

This week we’re featuring a band that’s been around for a few years now and that’s well established in the music scene, but nevertheless we believe they deserve a shout out from us.

Hailing from Iceland, well known for the legendary Bjork, this 5 member indie/folk band formed in 2010 consists of singer/guitarist Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, co-singer-guitarist Ragnar “Raggi” Þórhallsson, guitarist Brynjar Leifsson, drummer Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson and bassist Kristján Páll Kristjánsson.

Releasing their popular album ‘My Head Is An Animal’ in 2012, they quickly dominated the global air-waves with brilliant songs such as ‘Little Talks’ and ‘Mountain Sound’ which then found their fan base growing at a rapid rate as their unique sound of folk style musical stories of mystical woodland creatures captures the imaginations of everyone.

Be sure to keep an eye out for any upcoming appearances in this year’s winter festivals, but in the meanwhile, here’s their amazing video for ‘Little Talks’
