Festival season 2017 is not over yet……The coastal town of Looe is getting ready to be hit with big music, manic entertainment and a smattering of culture as it’s annual Looe Music Festival kicks off at the end of the month.
Welcoming over 12,000 people per day you can expect an eclectic mix of high energy ‘keep you on the move’ music, delivered back-to-back from either end of the beach and around the harbour.
Headliners Happy Mondays, Lulu and The Jesus and Mary Chain are joined by Reverend and the Makers, Cast, The Undertones, Uncle Frank, The Simmertones, The Membranes and The Dodge Brothers. Plus over ninety other amazing bands performing across five stages.
Unique on the festival circuit, taking place in the heart of Looe’s picturesque fishing port, the award winning event welcomes visitors and performers from around the world with it’s resident BBC Music Introducing Stage in partnership with BBC Radio Cornwall showcasing the very best emerging talent from region.
New for 2017, festival organisers have added an artist signings tent where festivalgoers can meet and greet their favourite bands on the bill plus a whole host of free activities including, slackline walking, circus skills and drawing masterclasses.
Committed to promoting Cornwall’s unique identity the weekend’s programme of events includes The Big Cornish Sing, a mass participation event with the festival gathering thousands people on the beach to sing one song together in Cornish. As well as, offering Cornish dance and language workshops throughout the weekend, for all to get involved in.
