Glass Butter Beach 2016

Glass Butter Beach 2016

Driving through the twisting roads of North Wales you know you’re in for a treat of a festival as you pass ‘Lord Of The Rings’ styled mountains and crevasses, taking in the breath taking views towards our destination of Glass Butter Beach. Mr Sunshine was breaking through and we knew we were set for a good day.

Glass Butter Beach is a unique festival to anything else you might find in the UK, where you can combine your love of skate, wake, surf and music. One thing we have to say, is that the views from the festival site are stunning, if you fancy a breather from the number of activities available from the grounds itself, you’re  a few paces away from over looking the beach, which makes some exceptional sunset viewings not far from your tent.

A happy and energetic crowd welcomed Katy B and Naughty Boy as they headlined the Friday night celebrations, what a way to start off such an amazing festival.

Although, this weekend, Titan was not a happy bunny. Despite the best efforts of the organisers, powerful wind and rain was too much and led to a tough decision to cancel Saturday’s event for the protection of the festival goers, artists and equipment. This wasn’t an easy decision but safety can’t be compromised. The show did however continue on Sunday and did not disappoint. One thing you can say about the spirit of festival folk is that nothing can put a downer on their weekend.

What makes Glass Butter Beach that little bit extra is the wake boarding events that take place through the day and evening. With a cable pulled wakeboarding ramp in the festival ground itself and the main games arena in the bay nearby we could just sit nearby and watch superb athletes pull amazing tricks. With non stop musical delights beaming from every part of the festival site, an array of genres were coming from some extremely talented artists and djs. Between the pauses on the main stage or whenever the rain started we often found ourselves dancing in the covered tent or in the woods chilling to some reggae vibes.

What we love about this festival is the boutique, intimate and ‘beachy’ laid back vibe. Every section of the festival from the V.I.P area, Tiki tent, Bar, Eateries, Back Door and main stage is within easy walking distance. The risk of losing your friends is low and making new friends is high. We will definitely return for more action next year!
