Kelis is set to provide a treat for the senses at this year’s Standon Calling. A Le Courdon Bleu trained chef, she’ll give revellers the chance to try out her culinary skills, ask questions to the singer-turned chef and marvel as she headlines the festival’s Main Stage in style on Sunday night.
Kelis comments, “Getting to spend a month in the UK cooking and performing really has been the best of both parts of my world. It’s been so fun putting together the menu and cooking with Chef Andy from Le Bun. Our meeting, and then our collaboration, all originated from the fact that we were both going to be at Standon Calling this year so we’re very excited to bring all that we’ve been working to everyone there.”
Standon Calling boasts an impressive line-up for 2016 including the likes of Suede, Jess Glynne, Everything Everything, The Hives, as well as breaking artists Yak, InHeaven, Lea Lea, JONES and of course not forgetting Kelis herself. Families can choose from an expansive programme of activities with everything from baby & toddler raves to hula classes, singalongs to film production workshops.
The festival also welcomes a stellar electronic line up in 2016 including Theo Parrish, Goldie, Joey Negro and Gold Panda. While The Cowshed nightclub will see takeovers from Hospitality and Sink the Pink’s naughty little sister Savage Disco, keeping the party going until 5am.
Standon Calling is the ultimate overgrown manor house party, offering renowned and upcoming acts, immersive theatre, a host of weird and wonderful workshops, talks, the annual dog show, a fancy dress parade and of course its own heated outdoor swimming pool. The story for this year is Legend of the Lost Seas, which will see the boutique festival pulling out all the stops for an incredible ride from start to finish. 2016 is shaping up to be a special year indeed.
