Following the news that Justin Bieber won’t be performing at this year’s Fusion Festival British artist Ed Sheeran steps in as last minute replacement. The organisers of Fusion Festival, which takes place between August 28th – 30th in Cofton Park, Birmingham have offered refunds to any of those wishing to return their tickets.
It is believed that Sheeran contacted the festival himself with an offer to help, and will play a full 90 minute set when it was announced that Bieber could not attend the festival due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’, although rumours suggest that the Canadian artist has been nominated for an MTV VMA in the states on the 30th of August.
With Ed Sheeran commenting “I’m delighted to be playing Fusion Festival after stepping in at the last minute to help out the guys at Fusion and support The Prince’s Trust. Birmingham crowds are always lively, so I can’t wait to come back. See you in a few weeks!” this surely is enough to please anyone disappointed of Bieber’s news as Ed’s live performances are renowned to entertain the crowd.
Fusion’s Event Director Damien Sanders said “This is incredible news, when Ed heard that Justin Bieber had pulled out he contacted us and offered to step in at the last minute, this is an amazing gesture from an all-round great guy and Ed really has saved the day, we are all eternally grateful. “We look forward to a spectacular show and are delighted to have secured one of the biggest acts in the world.”
